It's History

The 'Fritter Producers Adam Stilwell, Adam Pitman and David Blair

In 2005, three storytellers from the Northwest, Adam Pitman, Adam Stilwell and David Blair set out to make an almost completely improvised horror feature. Armed with a hand held DV camera from Costco and a load of loyal friends, they crafted their first feature, Roulette. The success of this award-winning ghost story led to the production of their next frightening flick, Paper Dolls. Shot on 35mm during the summer of 2006 in the forests of Northwest Montana, the brothers Fritter stomped their own dark spin on the legend of Sasquatch. “Paper Dolls” galloped through the festival circuit, receiving a dozen awards including Best Feature and Best Director, earning universally positive reviews and garnering new fans wherever it played. BadFritter Films is currently prepping the release of their latest film, Cliff Lake, a 15-minute short shot in HD at a hidden lake in the Montana Wilderness. At a grassroots level BadFritter Films has built an indie empire, thanks to the generosity and unwavering faith of their financial backers, their fans, and most importantly, their friends.

Company Philosophy

While we may specialize in the art of beautifully told horror stories, we are a film company with quality stories at the crux of our core values. We were born out of a desire to entertain, incite critical thinking, and to ultimately move our audience— three things that we value in the films we watch and love best. We emphasize collaboration and pride ourselves on the artistic community we’ve built. Our collective humble upbringings, as well as our do-it-yourself attitudes lends itself to our resourceful natures. There is a thread—sometimes beautiful, sometimes terrifying, and often times, both—that runs through all humanity. It is with that thread we weave our best stories. It is our hope that you recognize something in them, like looking in a mirror. Even if it scares you.

Who We Are

We are a team, raised in the Northwest with an intrinsic desire to tell unique stories. We are writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, musicians, artists, and dreamers. Our love for the horror genre was our first shared interest, but we quickly realized a greater commonality: the love for storytelling. In a market currently dominated by sequels, remakes, and manufactured megahits, we remember the films that inspired us to be filmmakers in the first place: Those with original stories and fully realized characters. Epic or intimate, frightening or fantastic.

We are storytellers sitting around a campfire with tales to tell.
